About me
Ayako TANAKA
Freelance interpreter
Having lived in Sri Lanka since 2000, I learnt Sinhala at the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies, a national institute of Sri Lanka offering language courses.
My work experience at the Japanese Embassy and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Sri Lanka also improved my English and Sinhala language skills and deepened my understanding of various fields such as economic and social development, project management and cultural exchange.
I started working as a freelance interpreter in 2013 and have since worked in a variety of settings, including JICA's development projects, corporate activities and people-to-people exchanges.
Taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the "new normal" trend in recent years, I have been improving my online interpreting skills through a wide range of online experiences, including business meetings, seminars and training sessions.
